ABOUT

Esther Kim

Description

Where The Green Remains Art Print

More About the Artist:

Kim earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from OCAD University in 2020. Raised in British Columbia, she developed a deep connection to nature that continues to inspire her work.

Esther’s paintings have been exhibited in both solo and group settings and featured at major fairs such as The Artist Project and the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (TOAF). Her work has been recognized with several distinctions from TOAF, including Best of Art Fair (2026), the Best of Painting (2021), The Power Plant Emerging Artist Award (2022), and Best of Online Fair (2024).

Kim’s work explores tender, fleeting moments through a playful yet deeply emotional visual language. Working primarily with acrylic, oil pastels, and markers, she creates richly textured paintings by layering diverse materials and squeezing paint directly from the tube like icing on a cake. Inspired by family, childhood memories, and everyday joy, her work blends intimacy with a gentle sense of surrealism and wonder. Through vibrant colors, whimsical forms, and tactile surfaces, she transforms ordinary scenes into poetic spaces. Her practice invites viewers to slow down, reconnect with warmth and
imagination, and cherish the beauty found in life’s simplest moments.
